Desert after

dessert after
the bitterness / stays at the end


strudel noodle
when I think of the little
lokshen puddings
Jewish girls and boys
kugel blintzes
rice pudding baklava
I still have that picture in my mind
tzimmes
bunt kuchen
coconut almond
macaroon meringue
that picture will never fade


some gathering greedy
the final part / I daren’t think about it dessert after
the bitterness / stays at the end
